Acoustica is a full noise and consultancy service company.
Controlling noise is a complex issue. To solve this, we’ve designed and developed a wide range of innovative products which are manufactured at our own facility in Colchester.
Acoustica started life in a small workshop in the New Forest during 1992, where we have since moved three times, each time expanding our production facilities before settling into Colchester in Essex during 2011. After being acquired by Elta Group in November 2016, we relocated to dedicated premises to support our future expansion and development. Elta Group continues to invest in the business, with recent additions including a Fiber laser and other enhanced production machinery.
We manufacture a vast range of acoustic products, from our standard range to bespoke solutions for more complex projects. Our offering includes acoustic noise surveys in accordance with ISO standards BS4142:2014 and offer a design service for detailed acoustic analysis before construction to mitigate potential noise issues.
We can also offer the services of our AMIO engineers to evaluate internal room calculations to design and report NR levels achievable within the rooms. As well as this, we also undertake Environmental Noise Surveys to determine plant break out levels at business boundaries and select standard or bespoke products to reduce to local requirements.

Engineering Capabilities
Utilising the latest design software and techniques our fully qualified design engineers offer class leading engineering solutions to many noise control issues. The use of 3D modelling and Solid Works packages enables us to confidently propose and design systems and products with the quality ‘designed in’. We employ qualified and experienced specialist engineers to allow us to innovate new solutions as well as offer a full technical and advice service.
Manufacturing Capabilities
We have always manufactured our own products, whether for standard or bespoke applications, which has led to diverse and specialist manufacturing expertise. This is all supported through the use of the latest product design software and production planning systems to manage internal processes, site-specific machinery, Fiber laser, CNC metal folding, CNC metal spinning and manual spinning. We also have our team of qualified and vastly experienced welders for all our bespoke products manufacture.
All components are manufactured in our factory using CNC equipment to ensure all products are made to the highest quality and not subject to human error during assembly. The manufacturing operations of Acoustica are managed to ISO9001:2015 quality standards.
Testing & Research
We have carried out a significant amount of product testing and research over many years. We have accumulated certified data derived from methods of test for silencers for air distribution systems BS4718 and BS EN ISO 7235:2009.
Our research, development and testing are all conducted at independent testing facilities, including fan and silencer testing, with all research carried out to BS848 part 1 & 2 along with BS EN ISO 5801:2008.
